As a professional Black woman in the practice of racial equity for over 15 years I overstand the racial stress, racialized trauma, and racism that comes along with the role of disrupting and dismantling racial oppression. After experiencing physical and psychological issues directly related to the work, I decided to leave municipal employment and center my self-care while continuing to disrupt and dismantle systemic and structural racism.
I know there are other practitioners and leaders of racial equity work with similar experiences; and not centering self-love and their self-care. It is my love of community and my desire for BIPOC liberation that I am developing this community of BIPOC racial equity leaders and practitioners who seek wellness and health.
WELLTH is a community where we encourage and promote wellness and health through self-love and self-care. View the first WELLTH Wizdom Live where I discuss the purpose of WELLTH. WELLTH also curates wellness travel events where participants explore various methods of self-care in beautiful locations in order to return home with a sustainable self-care practice. My self-care practice is fairly new. I'm learning what works for me. It isn't easy, and I am committed for the long-term. You can find your WELLTH. Join us today!
